Maximum Ratios
- In all of the overhead training courses we offer, the maximum ratio is 1:3 – 1 instructor to 3 students
- We will never pass this maximum as it is set down in the training agency standards
Minimum Numbers
- The minimum number of students to run a cavern | intro | full cave course is two
- This is because the instructor cannot act a a sudo student as they need to be observing whats happening during each training scenario
- We are happy to arrange course dates with one student and advertise those dotes for other students to join

As always this will depend on your starting point. You can star by taking a Cavern Diver Course utilising recreational equipment. The caveat to this is if you plan to progress your training further by taking the Intro to Cave course. Then we would recommend taking the cavern course in a redundant configuration – backmount or sidemount independant cylinders and regulators. If you are taking a Cavern and Intro to Cave course combination, then use of a redundant configuration is mandatory.
If you are not familiar diving in this technical configuration, we would recommend taking an intro to tec or entry level technical course prior to starting any cave diver training. If you already have this level of certification, then you are ready to start.
In short yes. The Wreck Diver course uses virtually identical skill sets and techniques as those learnt during the Cavern Diver course. For this reason it can be used to cover the prerequisites, in place of the Cavern Diver certification.
